18 - Setup Neutron on Controller

Published: at 04:06 AMSuggest Changes

This post is part of the Manual Deployment Openstack HA and Ceph series.

Setup Neutron Database (Exec on controller-01)

1. Create mysql database for neutron

mysql
CREATE DATABASE neutron;

2. Grant neutron user for any host access

GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON neutron.* TO 'neutron'@'localhost' \
IDENTIFIED BY 'neutron!dama';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON neutron.* TO 'neutron'@'%' \
IDENTIFIED BY 'neutron!dama';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;

Create Neutron Endpoint (Exec on controller-01)

1. Create neutron user in OpenStack

source admin-openrc
openstack user create --domain default --password 'neutron!dama' neutron

2. Grant admin role for neutron user

openstack role add --project service --user neutron admin

3. Create neutron service in openstack

openstack service create --name neutron \
--description "OpenStack Networking" network

4. Create neutron internal, public, and admin endpoint

openstack endpoint create --region java \
  network public http://public.java.dama.id:9696
openstack endpoint create --region java \
  network internal http://internal.java.dama.id:9696
openstack endpoint create --region java \
  network admin http://admin.java.dama.id:9696

Setup Haproxy for Neutron service (Exec on all controller nodes)

1. Add haproxy configuration
